Brain Light Therapy
Neuronic Helmet & Vielight Neuro Devices
Cutting-edge transcranial photobiomodulation (PBM) to support mental clarity, mood, and brain performance.
What Is Brain Light Therapy?
Transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM), also known as brain light therapy, uses targeted red and near-infrared light to energize and support your brain cells. Research shows that PBM can enhance mitochondrial function, reduce inflammation, and promote neuroplasticity, helping your brain operate at its best.
These technologies are non-invasive, relaxing, and completely safe. Many users report improved clarity, elevated mood, reduced brain fog, and better focus—even after just a few sessions.
Bay Area Brain Spa Offers Two Powerful Options:
Neuronic Helmet
The Neuronic Helmet delivers high-intensity near-infrared light to key areas of the brain.
- Targets prefrontal cortex, motor cortex, and deeper brain structures
- Supports mood regulation, memory, focus, and overall mental wellness
- The default “Glow” program is 10 minutes of full intensity PBM
- improve cellular health
- increase blood flow – aiding wellness and healing
- Download the Neuronic App to select a preset program
- “Peace” – 9min. 10hz Alpha for relaxation, meditation, calm
- “Focus” – 6min 40hz Gamma for memory, reaction time, mental flexibility

Glossary
- Transcranial Photobiomodulation (TPBM)
- A non-invasive therapy that uses red and near-infrared light to stimulate brain cells through the skull. This light helps improve mitochondrial function, which supports better brain energy, reduced inflammation, and improved mental clarity.
- Photobiomodulation (PBM)
- A general term for the use of light (usually red or near-infrared) to stimulate healing and cellular repair. PBM can be used anywhere on the body, not just the brain. It’s safe, non-invasive, and pain-free.
- Intranasal
- A method of delivering light therapy through the nasal passage. Because the nasal cavity has rich blood flow and a direct path to the brain, intranasal PBM can help improve brain oxygenation, circulation, and cellular communication.
- Transcranial
- Literally means “across the skull.” In brain light therapy, transcranial refers to devices that deliver light energy through the scalp and skull to reach the brain’s outer layers, especially the prefrontal cortex.
- Mitochondria
- The “powerhouse” of your cells. PBM works by energizing mitochondria, which increases ATP (cellular energy) production and supports better cellular function—especially in the brain.
- ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate)
- The energy currency of your cells. When light therapy enhances ATP production, cells can repair, regenerate, and function more effectively.
- Neuroplasticity
- The brain’s ability to reorganize and form new neural connections. PBM may support neuroplasticity, helping the brain adapt, heal, and improve performance over time.
Red Light vs. Near-Infrared (NIR) Light
Both red and near-infrared light are used in photobiomodulation (PBM), but they work in slightly different ways:
- Red Light (typically 620–670nm):
Penetrates skin and superficial tissues. Excellent for skin health, inflammation, and surface-level rejuvenation. Often used in red light facials and LED panels. - Near-Infrared Light (typically 800–1100nm):
Penetrates deeper into the body—reaching muscles, joints, and even the brain. NIR is the powerhouse for transcranial photobiomodulation and neurological support.
Why Choose One vs. the Other?
- For brain support, you need deeper light penetration → NIR light is essential
- For skin, surface pain, or inflammation, red light can be ideal
- Many devices, including Neuronic and Vielight, combine both wavelengths for a broader therapeutic effect
